Protecting Lake Ouimet for More Than 50 Years
A community association bringing together property owners and residents of the Lake Ouimet watershed to help protect the lake.

Examples of the actions we have taken over the years to protect water quality and preserve the lake's natural character.
Protecting Natural Habitats
For decades, APEL Ouimet has promoted shoreline naturalization and supported initiatives that protect natural habitats and biodiversity.
Promoting Responsible Coexistence
Over the years, various measures have been implemented to encourage the respectful use of the lake while promoting safety, peace, and environmental stewardship.
Monitoring the Health of the Lake
Since 2008, the Association has participated in the Volunteer Lake Monitoring Network (VLMP) and collaborated on scientific projects to better understand and protect the Lake Ouimet ecosystem. Since 2020, APEL Ouimet has also taken part in the Lake Partner Program, in collaboration with Quebec's Ministry of the Environment, contributing to long-term scientific monitoring and a better understanding of the lake's evolution.
Controlling Invasive Species
Working with its partners including Ville de Mont-Tremblant and RAPPEL, APEL Ouimet continues its efforts to control Eurasian watermilfoil, an invasive aquatic plant, in order to limit its spread and protect the quality of the lake's aquatic environment.

Since 1974, dedicated volunteers have devoted their time and energy to preserving the unique character of Lake Ouimet.
